‘Human Rights Watch’ Undermines the Dignity of Women and Their Children

Catholic leader states: “HRW undermines its credibility on the world stage and becomes a study in self-mockery by defending one of the most egregious human rights violations in history: abortion, the deliberate murder of an innocent unborn child.”
FRONT ROYAL, Va., Nov. 2 /Christian Newswire/ — The Rev. Thomas J. Euteneuer, STL, president of Human Life International (HLI)–the world’s largest pro-life, pro-family human rights organization, with over 90 affiliates in 75 countries around the world–has issued the following response to Human Rights Watch’s (HRW) release of “Obstacles to Safe Abortion in the United States:”

“It is disingenuous at best, and borders on criminal at worst, for an organization that purports ‘to protect people from inhumane conduct’ and to ‘expose human rights violations’ to issue a report that advocates for abortion as a necessary and humane procedure. HRW undermines its credibility on the world stage and becomes a study in self-mockery by defending one of the most egregious human rights violations in history: abortion, the deliberate murder of an innocent unborn child.
“HRW’s report is replete with falsehoods, inaccuracies and deceptions beginning with its premise that there is such a thing as a ‘safe abortion’ or that there is ever a ‘need’ for abortion. Pregnancy is not a disease or affliction to be remedied by modern science. In actuality, abortion is a barbaric procedure that robs women of their dignity and self-worth by making them complicit in the death of their own children.

“If Human Rights Watch truly wishes to ‘expose human rights violations and hold abusers accountable,’ then it needs to realize the truth that abortion, both surgical and chemical forms like the morning after pill, are the tools utilized by sexual predators and abusers to dispose of the evidence of their crime. Abortion does nothing to empower women, but instead enslaves them to the cruelty and exploitation of abusive men.
