Abdelkareem Nabil Soliman has had a tough time of it.

First, the 22-year-old law student attending Egypt’s world-famous Islamic university, Al Azhar, witnessed late 2005’s Alexandria Riots firsthand.

Then the young man was arrested for posting his decidedly un-Islamic thoughts on his BLOG.

While he claims he wasn’t treated horribly (as many are in Egyptian prisons), the fact that he was even detained for speaking his (nonviolent) opinion in a country, no, region of the world where people routinely kill Copts and other Christians because we aren’t “smart” enough to believe in “the better religion,” as Islam is often called, is very sad. Sadder still is the fact that these violent acts are rarely, if ever, prosecuted.

Back to the “Abdelkareem’s Raw Deal Timeline,” the beginning of 2006 had young Kareem expelled from Al Azhar University. Keep in mind that this University bans Copts (Christian Egyptians) from attending, even though they pay the taxes that keep Azhar’s doors open.

After the expulsion, the Alexandrian native was featured on an Al Jazeera documentary about bloggers and freedom. Surprisingly, several famous Moslem bloggers supported Kareem, despite the fact that he dragged their religion through the mud. It should be noted here that Abdelkareem was born a Moslem.

Things had seemed to settle down for a while, until this week, when it turns out that Kareem is being interrogated again (in the Egyptian “neyabah al 3amah”) for his writings and sentiments.

Thankfully, lawyers from a big Human Rights Organization in the Middle East will be with him.

Unfortunately, however, all the lawyers in the world won’t be able to keep Kareem out of prison this time if the powers that be realize how many people in the Western World care about his fate.

Or perhaps it is the ever-growing assembly of eyes that are peering in on the pitiful practices in Egypt that have the power to save young Kareem.

Spread the word, keep him in your prayers, and don’t forget to say a prayer for the safety and freedom of all Egyptians.. and all human beings everywhere.

“Anti-Moslems?”

By J. Ahmed Salib, M.D.

I am sorry, I just can’t help myself. (Salib’s comments in BOLD and Austin’s indented.)

With regards to Mr. El Masri’s comments, this man should educate himself and not make comments out of ignorance because it only makes him look foolish.

Pity you don’t take your own advice, Mikey!

Anyone who knows anything about Islam, Muslim or Non-Muslim alike knows that the Qur’an itself banns the Muslim from committing any terrorist act.

Well, then, this must be a different Islam than the one that Mohammed followed, because he was the first terrorist.

Muslims are permitted to fight only in the face of oppression and must stop fighting when that oppression stops, period end of story.

I thought that the Qur’an itself banns the Moslem from committing a terrorist act? Also, you may be interested to know that Arab men always think they’re oppressed. They are the original Mama’s boys who live by double standard and are little better than spoiled brats who want their own way. (Unfortunately, Copts have picked this up in the past several hundred years.)

Don’t believe me?

Nope. Noone with a thinking brain would believe that tripe, Austin.

No problem you may find this information very easily in any legitimately translated Qur’an.

I don’t NEED a translation.

Do me a fave, Austin. Go learn Arabic and read the Kor’an THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE READ and then come back and talk to me. Hurry up, I’m timing you. 1, 2, 3.. 4..!

A religion of peace it is indeed with its sole purpose being the submission to God.

A religion of P–SY (sorry for the crudeness but hey, if the shoe fits) it is indeed with its sole purpose being

1- Sex, Sex, and more Sex
2- Killing
3- Making up fake stories to legitimize 1 & 2
4- Lies
5- Insanity

Austin, you obviously don’t know about the approved torture methods and killing methods of the real Moslems (which you aren’t, by the way). Have you ever watched a man have hooks put into him and then each hook pulled a different direction until the man is in segments? (I’m talking MEAT hooks, Austin.)

Have you ever seen a person (like poor Atwar Bahgat killed in the manner I’m going to share with you in a moment?

By the time filming begins, the condemned woman has been blindfolded with a white bandage.

It is stained with blood that trickles from a wound on the left side of her head. She is moaning, although whether from the pain of what has already been done to her or from the fear of what is about to be inflicted is unclear. …

A large man dressed in military fatigues, boots and cap approaches from behind and covers her mouth with his left hand. In his right hand, he clutches a large knife with a black handle and an 8in blade. He proceeds to cut her throat from the middle, slicing from side to side.

Her cries “Ah, ah, ah” can be heard above the “Allahu Akbar” (God is greatest) intoned by the holder of the mobile phone.

Even then, there is no quick release for Bahjat. Her executioner suddenly stands up, his job only half done. A second man in a dark T-shirt and camouflage trousers places his right khaki boot on her abdomen and pushes down hard eight times, forcing a rush of blood from her wounds as she moves her head from right to left.

Only now does the executioner return to finish the task. He hacks off her head and drops it to the ground, then picks it up again and perches it on her bare chest so that it faces the film-maker in a grotesque parody of one of her pieces to camera.
By Halal Jabar

To be fair, some suspect this video of being a hoax that claimed the life of a Nepalese man instead of Bahgat, but is that any comfort? The animals still did horrible things to that victim. Moving on, though.

Tell us Mr. El Masri, to whom do you submit?

Jesus Christ, who never killed one man in His life, and who was killed Himself… to save you, Michael.

As far as terrorist actions are concerned, what do you call entering a country you have no right to enter against the will of the United Nations and killing 600,000 civilians? I call it Operation Iraqi Freedom!

You’ve gotta be kidding me. You’re proving that Islam is the way because of what the American army has done 1400 YEARS AFTER ISLAM BEGAN??

Ok, who ever said that Bush and Christianity were interchangeable terms? I disagree with the “war” MORE THAN YOU DO, friend. Those are MY Arabic-speaking brothers there, and even if they pray to a different diety (and are mistaken beyond belief), I would never endorse the killing of anyone. It’s YOUR people who do that, Mikey. When they’re oppressed, I mean. End of story, period.

Shall we talk of Palestine next?

Yes, let’s!

Or any of the multitudes of crimes committed by the U.S. against areas where Muslims are the majority.

Your beef seems to be with the U.S.
Don’t you know that the nation America has a savior complex? The rulers think they can fix anything. And they usually try to ‘fix’ things that have lots of oil. Why doesn’t Bush try “helping” the people in Darfur or Ethiopia or others who are starving to death? I agree with you, American politics have got out of hand (I’m still a Republican, though, because of the Moral issues).

In honesty we could start with the crusades which by the way is unilaterally accepted as an atrosity by the west toward Islam by Western historians.

Oh really? An Atrosity, you say? Well, actually, the Crusades may not have been the most shining of moments, but thank God in heaven for them, or else a bigger percentage of the world would be Muslim!

Do you consider the Arab invasion of Egypt, where my ancestors were threatened with having their tongues ripped out if they didn’t learn the Moslem language an atrocity? Do you consider the killing (by sword) of people who refused to convert an “atrocity”?

If you don’t, then you live in the Land of the Double Standard.
If you do, then you’re in the wrong religion, because baby, that’s what it’s all about.
I beg you to do some more research before promoting a religion that’s more terrifying than every horror movie ever put out there.

Why should we stop there when we can talk of the spanish inquisition?

Bring it.

Has my point been made or do you have cement in your brain?

Hmm. I have an MD, and you converted INTO Islam. Let’s just leave it at that.

And for the record, your “argument” not only proves that the cement has migrated from your brain to your heart, but that you’re an honorary Arab, double standards and all.

Before you stereotype all Muslims or even a majority of them as terrorist or even of a non-peaceful nature you should educate yourself with regards to the truth of Islam which is sadly practices by only a handful of people calling themselves Muslim today and of those most are American reverts.

Reverts??? You mean people who used to be Moslem and then reverted to it?? I’m starting to doubt that English is your first language, Mike.

And by the way, you’re right for once–the true Islam is only carried out by a relative handful of people; Osama bin Laden and others like him. If you haven’t killed anyone in the name of “allah,” then you’re a poor excuse for a Moslem (and not just because your spelling and logical faculties.. “need work.”)

Also you may want to take a strong look at the actions of non Muslims historically and presently and compare them with the actions of Muslims, I assure you, you will find that Muslims are indeed peaceful. Thank you and may you find truth in your journey.

Let’s see… Big Mo steals verses from Christian and Jewish scriptures. He promises a few idiots (whom no one would share a cab with, much less sleep with) around him that they can have all the food and sex and money that they want (before and after death), and they take him up on it. They go around raping and robbing and forcing conversions (sex and food and money on a platter, you might say) like a bunch of hairy pirates.
They are addicted to their new game, and devote their lives to spreading this “religion.”

I could go on, but I have to get to church soon. But I challenge YOU to look at how many Christians have been killed FOR THEIR FAITH. Forget American oil missions and the like. No one said they’re right.

Compare Jesus and Mohammed side by side. One killed no one, the other bathed in blood.
One never married and the other was such a sex maniac that he re-wrote his “scriptures” every time Junior reared his warped head. (If you don’t mind that he snatched his son’s wife, an old lady, and a 9 year old in the space of 10 years, then you’re a pedophilic sociopath and there’s no reasoning with you so I should just stop right now.)
One said “turn the other cheek” and the other said “slay the unbelievers where you find them.”
One said “wives submit to your husband as he submits to God” and the other said “allah has put men in charge of women because men excel women” and “if you get into a fight with the Mrs. then shun her, yell at her, or beat her.”

I mean, come off it, Michael. If you think “allah” condones these things, then you’re sadly mistaken. And if you can really look at your reflection in the mirror, or sleep peacefully at night after having defended these things, then you really and truly, as we say in Arabic, “ma3ndaksh damm.”

I am sorry, I just can’t help myself. (Salib’s comments in BOLD and Austin’s indented.)

Just in case you are not a comment-checker, I wanted to share this recent comment of Michael Austin, (to THIS article of his) and my reply. I have highlighted Mr Austin’s more interesting points.

Happy Sunday.

With regards to Mr. El Masri’s comments, this man should educate himself and not make comments out of ignorance because it only makes him look foolish. This was my original reply to Mr Austin:

Dear Mr. Austin, the problem lies in something you said in the first sentence– “legitimately translated.”

There isn’t one. Why? Because some versions seek to “sanitize” the religion (but no amount of Clorox can completely wash all of the blood from their hands), although others are translated properly but western converts such as yourself blindly fight against them, insisting “Yes, Islam is TOO, good!” (In the singsongy voice of a playground, not saying “Islam is too good”. Although you probably believe that.

I am very sorry for you, Michael. I’m sorry that you choose to believe 2 sets of lies–the set that says “Muslims are good” (propagated by Muslims) and the set that Muslims themselves believe (”Allah is good, true, real, and not an insane figment of a more insane man.”)

I do not know George el MAsry, but he obviously has some good and valid ideas.

I do know that I have read the Kor’an in 2 languages (and several translations) and things don’t add up. Either in the content or in the translations (at times).

You probably get your idea of Islam from that ridiculous “book” “Qur’an and Women,” by Amina Wadud, a Black American Moslem who also has the wrong idea.

I challenge any Arabic-speaking scholar of Islam to read that book and agree with the tenets therein.

May God bring you back to His truth, Michael–remember: Just because you had a bad experience at a protestant church does not mean that Islam is the solution!

I am praying for you.

In the love of the Jesus the Savior and the only source of true love,

Salib

This was before I’d read it line by line, though, and I invite you to read my line-by-line response in the entry to come.

Christian Freedom International Urges Renunciation of Violence
FRONT ROYAL, Va., Oct. 5 /Christian Newswire/ — Violence continues throughout the Muslim world in response to Pope Benedict’s recent remarks about Islam. Some Christian churches in Iraq have posted letters indicating their disagreement with the Pope in an attempt to avoid attack.

According to Christian Freedom International president Jim Jacobson, “as long as almost any criticism of Islam is met with violence, a serious dialogue between Christians and Muslims is impossible.”

In a world driven by economic, ethnic, and religious differences, people desperately seek dialogue. It is certainly better to talk than to fight. And much can be achieved if people set aside their differences to work together for common ends.

However, genuine dialogue requires confronting real problems. There is much in history about which those of both the Christian and Muslim faiths–and others as well–must regret. Injustice was committed by the use of violence by those claiming to speak for God. The victims of such injustice were many.

Today the picture is very different. By no means is the Christian church perfect–“God tells us that all men have fallen short of His glory,” emphasizes Jacobson. But over the last several hundred years Christians have come to recognize that violence and force have no place in promoting the Gospel message.

Unfortunately, that is not the case in the Muslim world. That sad reality is evident from the response to the Pope’s speech: the murder of a nun in Somalia, church burnings by Palestinians, attacks on churches in Iraq, and threats against Christians elsewhere. The problem of Islamic violence against non-Muslims of all faiths is not locked in history. It is today.

Equally serious is the problem of persecution and discrimination. “The bias against Christians is pervasive across the Muslim world,” explains Jacobson. “Of course, some countries are freer and more tolerant than others. Nevertheless, it is virtually impossible to find a Muslim-majority nation in which Christians are not oppressed, while it is similarly hard to locate a Christian-majority state in which Muslims are victimized.”

The starting point for any inter-faith dialogue must be a discussion of the willingness of Islamic governments to stop the persecution of non- Muslims. “Freedom of conscience is a prerequisite for religious faith, and it must be protected for everyone,” says Jacobson.

There is much in culture and history that divides believers in God. But we also have much in common. The foundation for future religious dialogue and cooperation must be the renunciation of violence in the name of faith.

U.S.-Based Humanitarian Organization Helps Provide Income for Artisans in Other Countries

FRONT ROYAL, Virginia, Oct. 2 /Christian Newswire/ — Christian Freedom International (CFI), a non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to the cause of helping persecuted Christians worldwide, has released its 2006/2007 Handcraft Catalog in conjunction with its microenterprise program.

The catalog features dozens of handcraft items for sale, including ethnic clothing, pottery, jewelry and bags, all made by Christian artisans in countries such as Pakistan, Laos, Bangladesh, and Indonesia. As part of its microenterprise, or “self-help,” program, CFI provides artisans with training and materials, then pays them for the crafts that are shipped to and sold in the United States. For poverty-stricken Christians, the program has been a successful way for them to earn an income for themselves and their families.

Microenterprise is just one of the many projects CFI undertakes in its attempts to aid suffering Christians throughout the world. By monitoring countries where persecution is the most intense, the organization is able to partner with indigenous churches and church members to provide basic supplies such as food, Bibles, medicine and medical care, as well as the operation of schools and orphanages, in areas where it is desperately needed.

Startling statistics reveal that more Christians have been martyred for their faith in the past 100 years than in all of the past 1,900 years combined. Christian Freedom International has been widely recognized for its efforts to provide relief and advocacy on behalf of Christians living in countries where even the simple act of owning a Bible is illegal.

American Korean Pastor Put under Surveillance in a Hotel; New Website for Religious Freedom in China Launched

MIDLAND, Texas, Oct. 27 /Christian Newswire/ — China Aid Association learns that all the 35 Christians arrested October 26, 2006 in a Bible training program held in Qilin mountain Villa, Urumqi city, Xinjiang Autonous Region have been released. They were released at 11pm after 12 hours of interrogation.

The police behaved relatively “gentle” during the interrogation, according to the eyewitnesses, female Christians were not abused this time, but at least one male Christian were beaten by the interrogators, and 2 Christians were fined 50 Yuan (about 6 US$).

After the interrogation focused on the issue of the American Korean pastor is currently under residence surveillance in an unknown hotel, and the police have his passport. The local Christians are not able to converse with him.

Among the 35 previously arrested, sister Fu Jufang and sister Rao were summoned again to the police station at 1pm on October 27(Beijing Time) and were released at 7pm after 6 hours of interrogation. Sister Zhou Li and another sister are also asked to go to the Yongfeng police station for further investigation next Monday.

CAA today formally launches a new website to promote and advance religious freedom for all in China. The name of this website is WWW.MonitorChina.Org.

“We welcome the release of the arrested Chinese house church pastors and we hope the American Korean pastor can be allowed to come back home soon,” Said Rev. Bob Fu, the president of CAA, “We hope through timely, accurate and truthful reports as well as faithful actions, the Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights can be realized in China, which reads:

“Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.”

CAA gathers verifiable reports on threats and actions against the religious freedom of all people in China, regardless of their religious affiliation. CAA then urges proper actions by concerned communities to help advance religious freedom for all in China.

MIDLAND, Texas, Oct. 23 /Christian Newswire/ — CAA learned the local prosecutor in Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou city, Zhejiang province decided not to prosecute the 6 Church leaders in the event at this time. The case has been returned to the local PSB to gather more evidence. Family members of the indicted pastors were notified this decision on October 16, 2006.

According to information acquired by CAA, at the time of the event the church leaders implored the military police to postpone entering the construction site, and at the same time urged the Christians to leave quickly. The potential large-scale clash was actually avoided on the spot. The local people’s prosecutor might find the charge of incitement to resist law-enforcement is not tenable. So the case was returned to the local PSB to gather more evidence.

According to an expert legal analyst, the most optimistic prospect is that the case will be thrown out for lack of sufficient evidence.

It is well known that the local PSB began investigating an old case that was settled 3 years ago, known as the 8/22/04 event for short. In 2004, Xiaoshan churches held a series of open-air Gospel meetings to evangelize the nomadic workers in Xiaoshan. As the attendance increased vehemently, the local PSB intervened. August 22, 2004 the police intercepted & arrested some Christians on their way to the meeting site. The issue was peacefully settled with an agreement between the local PSB and the church that stated that the PSB would stop the investigating if the church stopped holding similar activities and the negotiation was videotaped as a proof.

The possibility still exists that the local PSB is investigating the legal responsibility of the church leaders in the 8/22/04 open air Gospel meeting event, because most of the church leaders were involved in both the 2004 & 2006 cases.

The 6 church leaders are all prestigious Christians in Xiaoshan, Rev. Bob Fu, the president of CAA said, They are absolutely law-binding and peaceful people of faith and we urge the Zhejiang authority to honor the rule of law and the spirit of religious freedom and to release them immediately.

Bob Fu also expressed concern that some individuals in the Xiaoshan PSB broke the agreement made with the church in 2004. The local government authority will lose their credibility in the eyes of thousands of religious believers in the long run.

6 church members still imprisoned:

WASHINGTON, Oct. 19 /Christian Newswire/ — The Washington-DC based human rights group, International Christian Concern (ICC), www.persecution.org, has just been informed that on July 20, 7 Muslim leaders (clerics) brutally attacked 50 or more Christians in Henno, Ethiopia. This latest attack is just one example of the increasing violence against Christians in Ethiopia. In fact, Islamic leaders are urging Muslims in the area to kill full-time Christian evangelists. The situation has reached such intensity that Christian leaders are in fear and moving in pairs to ward off attacks. Local Muslim authorities failed to take action against the Muslim attackers.

Henno is located in the district of Kokosa of the Oromia region, 404 kilometers South of Addis Ababa.

In 2005, two prominent Muslims in Henno converted to Christianity: “H,” a well known Muslim leader, and “M,” the son of a well-respected Muslim tribal leader. The two conversions angered Muslim leaders in the surrounding region. On July 20, 2006, “M” hosted a worship service for the other Christians in Henno and invited a choir from the Sidama region.

The worship service gained the attention of the whole village, including Muslim leaders who responded violently by instigating a riot, using gangs in the area. The gangs were carrying local weapons such as knives, stones, and metal rods.

The Muslim leaders demanded the expulsion of the choir from the area. The new believer and former Muslim leader, “H,” refused to stop the service despite their pressure. Consequently, the crowd began to beat “H” and other Christians in the house with their weapons.

“H” was beaten badly, receiving five deep wounds to his head. Because he was beaten with an iron rod, he was also missing teeth. He suffered deep lacerations to his legs, where several ligaments protruded from the skin. “H’s” daughter-in-law was pregnant at the time but lost her baby because she was also severely beaten.

In total, twelve people were seriously injured; five others were found to have lacerations on their body and received medical treatment in Shashamene Kuyera Hospital. “H” also received care and has recovered from the attack.

The Christians reported the riot to the district government administrative office, which took no legal action. Instead, the officers warned Christians not to worship in a region that is predominately Muslim. It is important to note that all officers who heard the case were in fact Muslim. The case was then taken to a higher police authority. The police responded by arresting 26 gang members. However, they were released quickly because tribal elders appealed to the government.

An Encouraging Note

In the following weeks, many Muslims denounced the actions taken against the Christians. To express their disgust, Muslims refused to go to Mosques. In fact, forty-seven key leaders became Christians and renounced Islam stating, “If Islam means killing innocent brothers and sisters – we do not want to follow it!”

Please pray for the Christians in Henno, Ethiopia who are in need of your support in the midst of persecution from Muslim leaders who want to annihilate them. ICC encourages all concerned parties to contact the Ethiopian embassy in the United States, to respectfully express concern that the freedom of Christians in Ethiopia is not being sufficiently protected. The following is offered as an opinion from Gary McCullough, the director of the Christian Communication Network, in regard to recent discussions on the criteria to define a religion as peaceful and statements made by Pope Benedict XVI:

Is there not an Arabic version of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Emperor’s New Suit?
“How dare you say Mohammad was violent – I, as a devout and faithful follower of the peaceful religion of Islam, will kill you Christians and destroy your religious sites until your Pope apologizes.” – A hypothetical but apparently accurate position of many Muslims

The actions and teachings of Mohammad were evil and inhumane (my words, not the Holy Father’s). This was recently illustrated by the televised beheading of Nick Berg when one of the murderers put a blade to Berg’s neck and said, “Allah has left us an example in the blessed Prophet with the slow cutting of the prisoners’ necks, and the cutting off of their heads.”

Faithful followers of Mohammad are destine for eternal damnation–and while living out their faith on earth will make life like hell for those whom they are able to impact. Their only salvation is repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord, (yes, the one born of the Jews).

Our Christian desire is that the followers of Islam renounce faith in Mohammad, but not because we wish you death or will punish you. Our desire is out of love for you, even while you wish us harm—even while you do us harm. This offer is made with the unconditional promise that we will never force you to accept our proposition. This position on force is what defines a religion as peaceful. This position on force is what allows Muslims and a multitude of other religions to peacefully coexist with Christians in western countries. When Christians have the rule of law and the majority in a democracy, there is true freedom to worship as you choose.

What we will force upon Islam and its followers is punishment for enforcing Mohammad’s faith or laws upon others. This punishment will be meted out only in a just and measured response.

Such a response of force is not revenge. Such a response is not contrary to peace. It is a response in defense of life and in defense of our families’ and neighbors’ freedom. Individual Christians, as has been demonstrated throughout history, may refuse to defend themselves as a manifestation of God’s love for all—including violent Islamic aggressors. After all, we are commanded to “turn the other cheek.” But as a whole, as nations, and as families, we are not commanded to “turn the other cheek” of our neighbors, our wives, husbands, parents, or children.

A religion should be judged by its fruit. In countries under Islamic rule – violence against individuals who practice other religions is common. In the war raging in southern Sudan – when Islamic forces take control of an area, Christians have been killed when they refuse to convert to Islam and the Christian churches are burned. Yet when control of an area is taken by the southern rebel Christian army, mosques are left standing and Muslims are allowed to continue to practice their faith. I have traveled to Africa and spoken to the soldiers and survivors. This is just one example of what defines a religion as peaceful. This is one more example that defines Islam as a religion of the sword.

To claim Islam is a peaceful religion is a lie of whole cloth similar to the fabric of The Emperor’s New Suit. Perhaps I am naïve as a child, but I am no longer willing to be silent and gawk at Mohammad’s nakedness. – Gary McCullough, director of the Christian Communication Network

Background—

Here is what Pope Benedict XVI said:

“The emperor certainly knew that Sura 2, 256, reads: ‘No force in matters of faith’. It is one of the early suras, from a time — as experts say — in which Mohammed himself was still powerless and threatened.
“However, the emperor of course also knew the requirements about the holy war that were later formulated in the Quran. Without going into details like the handling of the owners of the scriptures, or non-believers, he (the emperor) turned to his interlocutors — in a surprisingly brusque way — with the central question after the relationship between religion and violence.

“He said, I quote, ‘Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.’”

The hijab: Non-Muslim girls attending an Islamic school will have no choice but to wear headscarves

Female students at a new Islamic school will be made to wear head scarves regardless of their religion, it was revealed yesterday.

The Madani High School in Leicester will be required by law to accept 10 per cent of its 600 pupils from a non-Muslim background.

But girls who are not Muslim will still have to abide by a rule insisting all female pupils cover their heads as part of the uniform.

Assistant principal Zainab Elgaziari said he did not regard the demand as a problem - despite the ongoing row over Muslim women’s veils.

He said: ‘I can’t see why if a student wears a head scarf it should be an issue. It’s the same as a shirt or tie - it’s just part of our uniform.

‘We will welcome students of other faiths. Indeed, there will be a quota set down by the Government, and we will abide by these rules.

‘When you go to any school you know what the uniform will be. Like any school, we will have one - and in our case it will include a head scarf.’

The secondary school, a voluntary-aided state academy, will replace the city’s existing Islamic Academy when it opens next September.

Yesterday Leicester City Council said it did not believe the scarves would deter non-Muslim parents from sending children to the school.

Education spokesman Hussein Suleman, who is also a member of the school’s temporary governing body, said: ‘We have to find a balance.

‘Governors have to take into account the fact that 10 per cent can be of a non-Muslim background and use discretion where appropriate.

‘At the same time, parents have a right to send or not send their children to this school. I hope discretion will be used if there are any disagreements.’

The school, which is not expected to make boys cover their heads, was also backed by Suleman Nagdi, of the Federation of Muslim Organisations.

He said: ‘All Islamic schools have certain criteria for school uniform. I can’t see anything different about the criteria they are setting in this instance.’

CHICAGO, Oct. 12 /Christian Newswire/ — The criminal case against Repent America (RA) director Michael Marcavage, relating to his arrest and subsequent incarceration during Chicago’s “Gay Games,” has come to a screeching halt. On October 4, the prosecutor announced that neither the alleged “complaining witness,” nor any of the numerous police officers identified as witnesses were willing to come to court to pursue the charges.

The case was continued from August 30 to October 4 when the prosecution advised the court that they had been unsuccessful in their attempts to reach the “complaining witness.” In the interim, the prosecution was to have made special efforts to contact the alleged witness, as well as reach the police officers involved to determine how they would proceed. The prosecution, however, failed to pull together a case, resulting in the “disorderly conduct” charge lodged against Marcavage to be “stricken off the call with leave to reinstate (SOL).” The charge cannot be reinstated unless the prosecution can demonstrate “good cause.”

“Obviously, as these were transparently trumped up charges and as the city could find no credible witnesses ready or able to back them up, the case was tossed on the trash heap where it belonged from the beginning. The case should never have been brought,” stated Tom Brejcha, president and chief counsel at the Chicago-based Thomas More Society, attorney for Marcavage. “And now that it has been thrown out, it’s high time that our city be held to make a full accounting for this egregious and disgraceful suppression of fundamental First Amendment liberties on the streets of Chicago,” Brejcha concluded.

Repent America filed a federal lawsuit against the City of Chicago a week prior to Marcavage’s arrest for an incident that took place on July 16, 2006. On this occasion, several RA volunteers were arrested and jailed for several hours, but not charged, for attempting to minister the Gospel on a public sidewalk near Navy Pier. The lawsuit has now been amended to include the July 22, 2006 incident.

“Adding insult to injury, we found on retrieving a videotape of the events leading up to the arrest (outside Wrigley Field, just before the closing ceremonies) that after confiscating the tape the police had recorded over it to destroy this critical evidence, yielding a powerful inference that the videotape would have fully proved our client’s utter innocence,” said Brejcha. “It was an honor to represent one so intrepid and determined to preach the Word of God in the teeth of such adversity and so near the Gates of Hell,” Brejcha concluded.

Press Release

For immediate release

11th October 2006

The United Copts of Great Britain condemns the persecution and discrimination practiced by Muslim fundamentalist gangs which is being conducted under the nose of the Egyptian police with either the Egyptian police tacit approval or complacency.

The female child Lawrence Wagih Emil 15 years old from Mahala El-Kobra, Egypt was kidnapped on 4/10/06 and taken to Helwan district over 100 miles south of Mahala El-Kobra by Muslim fundamentalists gang who attacked her, kept her under false imprisonment for over 12 hours.

Lawrence managed later on to escape from her captors , she was kept in a safe place by a Muslim family, the police was informed of the address of her kidnappers but did nothing to apprehend and charge them.

Lawrence was later on handed over to her family. United Copts GB learnt from reliable sources that the police will not persecute the kidnappers, this is not the first time the police in Egypt turn a blind eye to the persecution of Christians.

In the eighties and nineties hundreds of innocent Christians were murdered in cold blood, please see a short list of the murderous attacks on Copts on the United Copts web site http://www.unitedcopts.org/content/view/18/33/ non of the murders were charged and convicted.

The stark example was Al-Kosheh massacre on 2nd Jan 2000 when 21 innocent Christians were killed in their homes or in the fields. Again not a single murderer was persecuted by the Egyptian government.

For years Copts complained of variable degrees of Egyptian government acceding to the Muslim Fundamentalists agenda. This unfortunate policy resulted in Egypt being one of the major exporters of terrorism in the whole world due to fundamentalist abuse of Media and education system, where radicalisation of ordinary Egyptians took place on daily basis for over 30 years.

Egypt led the way towards spreading Islamic fundamentalism. World wide leaders and figureheads Muslim fundamentalists such as Mohammad Atta who masterminded 9/11 suicide hijacking or Ayman Al-Zawahri Ben Laden lieutenant coming from a country who is considered to be a “Western ally” and the second highest recipient of USA foreign aid after Israel, raises may questions and many eye brows too.

While the murder of Christians has slowed down in the past years, the last events were on 14/4/06 when churches were attacked in the city of Alexandria by a person carrying two swords, uttering verses from the Quran and attacking Christian worshippers killing one person Noshi Atta Guirguis 78y and injuring many others. The assailant Mahmoud Salah-Eddin Abdel-Raziq 28y was later diagnosed as mentally disturbed.

On 26/6/06 in Zaqaziq Fouad Fawzi Tawfik was murdered in cold blood in his shop at the hands of a Muslim fundamentalist who stabbed him several times, uttered some Islamic religious verses and left the shop.

The United Copts of Great Britain condemn the persecution of Copts in Egypt and ask the Egyptian government to provide equal protection to the Copts.

The United Copts of Great Britain ask the Egyptian government to seriously address this serious issue and also ask Human Rights organisations, governments and all Freedom Loving people to apply pressure on the Egyptian government to stop turning a blind eye to the persecution of religious minorities and to and stop the discrimination/ persecution of Copts in their motherland, and to treat all citizens equally.

MEDIA ADVISORY, Oct. 3 /Christian Newswire/ — The President of the American Coptic Union (ACU) sends the following open letter to the US Department of State, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Dear Secretary of State Rice:

The American Coptic Union (ACU), which represents Coptic people in the United States and Egypt, is deeply concerned about the human rights abuses perpetrated against the Copts in Egypt. While these violations against our people have been escalating since September 11, 2001, the Egypt government has not protected its Coptic population—as Islamic terrorists and the Egyptian State Security Investigation authority continues to attack and persecute the Copts.

The daily horrors of shame-rape, ethnic cleansing, forced displacement and forced conversion, particularly in the southern part of Upper Egypt, are seriously eroding the Copts’ economic, social, and religious existence. Despite the good relationship and numerous calls by President George W. Bush to President Hosni Mubarak, the daily life of the Copts continues to deteriorate.

While the Egypt government continues to isolate its Coptic population, it has never discussed the constitutional rights of Egypt’s Christians nor has it legislated any new laws or presidential decrees to ensure human rights for the Copts. In fact, human rights activists are often harassed, attacked and falsely imprisoned in Egypt for speaking out.

As I write this letter to you, not one case of rape or kidnap, which was reported to the Egyptian authorities, has been filed. The ACU has personally documented and reported many of these crimes, which the Egyptian government has ignored.

Mary Bulak is a Coptic mother who lost two underage daughters, after they were kidnapped, raped and forcefully converted to Islam, Nov. 10, 2003. Although our organization has spent considerable time with officials from the U.S. Department of State and the USCIRF, giving full details of the horrible crimes and suffering endured by the Bulaks, the Egyptian government still refuses to end the suffering of this family (and thousands of other families who have endured similar persecution). Another crime committed by the Egyptian government is the killing of Sabry Zaky Esq., a Human Rights lawyer, July 23, 2004. This crime was also ignored and to this day, it remains unsolved despite several requests for investigation.

The American Coptic Union requests that you discuss the continued human rights abuses of the Copts in Egypt, along with the cases mentioned in this letter, during your upcoming meeting with the Egyptian government. We also suggest building a friendly grass roots effort with those Christians and Muslims who are loyal to the U.S. and its values for freedom.

Sincerely,

Rafique Iscandar
President

(By William Hanna)

Dear ALL:

The latest fashion in our Coptic Church pulpit is really something that will make Sts. Athanassious, Kyrillos, and Descores bones turn in their graves when they see their descendants violating the rules of Orthodox teaching: What you see now is bishops standing and quoting the Koran (Latest, bishop of Helwan on Egyptian Satellite, Sunday 17 Sep 2006).

The corollary is very obvious, little priests imitating asyadhum and quoting also. And then one large little priest from Masr Al-quadima appearing on ART to declare to the world that he studied the Koran for the last 15 years and he knows all that it says? Wake up Coptic Clergy - you are loosing your Christianity to appease the others in your country. The Koran should not be quoted from a “Christian Pulpit” as evidence. That is what both and many others are doing!

“You are quoting the teachings of Nastour to the world - ?!—-???!!!!?ian??”

What you forgot my fathers and Lords (assyadna) is this: Christ is A-Z, you don’t need other religions after Christ came. Is this not why we fought Arios, and Nastour
Revelation 1:8
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Revelation 1:11
saying, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” and, “What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”
Revelation 21:6
And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.
Revelation 22:13
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”
Revelation 22:12-14 (in Context) Revelation 22 (Whole Chapter)
If you have the Alpha and Omega (A-Z) you don’t need other books to quote. Especially if that other book said: “ma salabuh wma qutalohu inma shubih lahum” and also said that “kazab alazeen quallu ana Issa Ibn Mariam Ibn Allah” And: “Ya-yuha al Nassara (followers of Jesus of Nazareth) khafu allah wala taqulu an Issa Ibn Mariam Ibn Allah ….”

So, Nastour on their mouth (because it was “koran” i.e. oral teachings is speaking against the divinity of our Lord and you my church leaders (clergy) are quoting the oral teachings of Nastour. Shame on You! You don’t deserve to be called a Christian (follower of Christ). You can call yourselves a “Church” - a body of believers in something! but it is not Christ - You are believers in yourselves, worshipping your ancesstors and your living leaders when you kneel to each other. Lord Have Mercy! This is not Christianity, it is Churchianity and Coptic, meaning Egyptian Cult is the only description. By the way that is what the Encyclopedia Britanica Calls the Egyptian Church, a cult. We fought for the last 40 years (since 1965) to remove this title but you are bringing it back on yourselves.

Now here is what St. John the Beloved of Christ: Apostole and Evangelist said about he who denies Christ (The Son of God):
1 John 1:3
that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
(Where is the blood if one says “ma salabuh wma qutaluhu?”)

3. 1 John 2:4
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

4. 1 John 2:6
He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
1 John 2:5-7 (in Context) 1 John 2 (Whole Chapter)

5. 1 John 2:9
He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now.
1 John 2:8-10 (in Context) 1 John 2 (Whole Chapter)

(What did the Church do with Fr. Abdelsayed, refused to pray on him. What did we do with Fr. Shenouda anba Bishoy, we exiled hin since 1988, and most recently we accused Fr. Matta Al-Meskein, a blessed Father of Monastecism and one of the great theologians of the last 60 years a heretic. Who is the heretic? The pot calling the kettle black? etc. )

6. 1 John 2:10
He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. 1 John 2:9-11 (in Context) 1 John 2 (Whole Chapter)

(we (the Church) became a stumbling block to hundreds, even thousands of others who grew in the Church, we criticized them, exiled them, evected them from their homes and stopped paying their salaries and to a young woman the wife of a priest, only 2 years in priesthood asking how she and her husband and 2 children can live - the bishop replies in perfect english: “It is your problem!” by the way she solved her problem - her husband now is a Protestant Preacher based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Just in case you all don’t know!). What did the Church do to the departed and forgotten anba Aghabious, we called him crazy and put him in isolation. We exiled many anbas and abounas and the list is long and very well known and most recently a name Amonius and Mattias were added!

6. 1 John 2:11
But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
1 John 2:10-12 (in Context) 1 John 2 (Whole Chapter)

(We heard the highest ranking bishop say in a lecture recorded on tape and I quote: “Zakaria Buttros (without titles) /awez at? lesanuh, Makary Younan (w/o titles) madakhalsh al-maframah, we Armeia Bulos (w/o titles) hayodkhul al shwayah. No wonder they call this bishop in Egypt: Anba Be-yeshouy)..

7. 1 John 2:13-14,17
I write to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, Because you have overcome the wicked one. I write to you, little children, Because you have known the Father. I have written to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, And you have overcome the wicked one. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
1 John 2:16-18 (in Context) 1 John 2 (Whole Chapter)

(Here the Apostole is advising the youth to obey the fathers, but more important the fathers not to drive their young to anger, frustration, and disbeleif through harsh treatment. Something my beloved Church hierarchs need to contemplate and act according to the words of the Apostole rather than the ways of their cruel world that is the result of living under one dictatorship or another in the last 60 years, 2 generations of Egyptian miserable dictatorships: Abd-el Nasser, Mohammad Anwar El-Saddatty and now Mubarak the president of Masr El-gadidah.

8. 1 John 2:22
Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
1 John 2:22-24 (in Context) 1 John 2 (Whole Chapter)

Do we know now who the anti-christ is. It is any person anytime that opposes Christ and His teachings. It is not Nuclear Science. We know who he is. He existed from the begining. What we are supposed to do is to oppose that liar and not befriend him.

And now comes Ramadan, and we will start again these tables of lies all-over the country. Wait a minute. Mr. Clinton learned the lie and started doing it in his second presidency. And guess what: George W. Bush was never called smart. He is following in the footsteps of his predecessor.

Now, I come to an important point: In a lecture at Cairo University, HHPS III was asked about Sha?rawy? Where he is less than a year after Sha?rawy died. HH answered with a very clever single line: with his good friend whom he loved. Now I answer where my Church leaders will be. Of course with their good friends whom they have chosen to be with. And “haza kafi ya Abd Al-kafi”

But the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, for us poor helpless people from the old ages that still are trying to keep our faith in Christ while the majority of our people are saying: Issa Naby, Moussa Naby!” is this “Moussa was Naby - archprohetese” but Issa, do you mean Jesus Christ the Son of God - Is not naby- because He is the Almighty God Incarnate (borin in the Flesh). He is more than anything in the world. HE IS GOD IN THE FLESH: “And the WORD BECAME MAN”

(A-Z) 9-Infinity 1 John 2:24-..
[ Let Truth Abide in You ] Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. .. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. .. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

[ The Imperative of Love ] In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother’s righteous.
… We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. .. And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. .. Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. …Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
.. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. — In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Islam refuses every single word here.

1 John 4:14: ..
And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also. Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.
Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

1 John 5:6:..
[ The Certainty of God's Witness ] This is He who came by water and blood-Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is the witness of God which He has testified of His Son.
He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that.

[ Knowing the True-Rejecting the False ] We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.
1 John 5:17-19 (in Context) 1 John 5 (Whole Chapter)
1 John 5:20
And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
1 John 5:19-21 (in Context) 1 John 5 (Whole Chapter)
2 John 1:1
[ Greeting the Elect Lady ] The Elder,To the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth,
2 John 1:1-3 (in Context) 2 John 1 (Whole Chapter)
2 John 1:3
Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
2 John 1:2-4 (in Context) 2 John 1 (Whole Chapter)
2 John 1:7
[ Beware of Antichrist Deceivers ] For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

2 John 1:9
Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.
I could have said: Fathers and Brothers, Sisters and Mothers who are going astray because you are trying to appease/please others because of a gain or out of fear: “Read the First Epistle of St. John the Beloved of Christ 100 times then start over because you missed the mark bigtime in the last 10 years.”

For us to be true Christians, not walking corpses that are not sure where we are going, because we can end up with the world friends and not the heavenly friends: The Disciples, Apostoles, Martyrs, Confessors, Saints and those who pleased Christ, we have to be careful and walk the stright path towards the Narrow Gate. He will be with you every step of the way. And the Glory is not to men with big hats, or women with big halos, but is always was and will forever be to The Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. One God. Amen.

Vote For Sally Bishai

October 4, 2006

There is a magazine who had contacted a friend of mine last month, searching for accomplished people to interview. After reading their past interviews, and discussing it with my friend, I have decided that the best person to represent the Young Coptic Movement will be Dr. Sally Bishai. This has nothing to do with the fact that she accepted an article of mine to appear in her magazine (I will put a separate listing for this momentarily), and everything to do with the fact that she is everything they are looking for–young, accomplished, ambitious, relatively high profile, and Middle-Eastern. This is what their site is: The Cultural Connect and you must choose “Mid-East Connect” from the menu. Then email them suggesting her.

Here is a brief bio to help you out (this is what I sent to them):

“Dr. Sally Bishai is amazingly accomplished for a 28 year old. She is the author
of several books, 2 of which are about Middle Eastern Culture (they were
featured, I believe, in Forbes Book Club Online), she has made several
documentaries about her homeland of Egypt and also human rights, she is the
hostess of her own web/TV program (who has featured such guests as director
Keith Beauchamp, Activist Dr. Saad El Din Ibrahim, Writer Mona Eltahawy, among
others), she edits two popular “underground” magazines (X-Culture Magazine, and
Photo X Quarterly), and she even finds time to be a weekly columnist for several
newspapers. She teaches at a prominent Florida University. I do not have her
phone number, but I believe you could do alot worse than this young lady!”
