More Moslems Find the Light (Ahmed K.)
September 27, 2006
Hi, I was born in a Pakistani family in the UK. I was a major fundamentalist Muslim. I had absolute faith in Islam and I loved it very much. However after reading the Koran a few times I started to wonder about some of the verses. There were things in the Koran that were making me nervous, also the many stories about Mohammed were also cause for concern. The conquest and subjugation of the Jews was rather disturbing, so to was the rape of many women. I didn’t want to believe this and i started to say to myself that these stories are lies. However the thought of my faith was eating my mind, slowly, slowly i was being torn apart by this dilemma. I finally wrote down some of the problems I had with the Koran and the story of Mohammed. I went to mosque and asked the mulavi sahib about these issues i had with Islam. He tried his best to explain but its like I knew that he wasn’t going to be able to justify some of the atrocities committed by Mohammed. However the part where he got stuck was the Aisha question. How can a man of more than 50 years old have sexual feelings for a girl of only 6! After he gave me a dissatisfactory answer I just went quiet and walked away. I was out the door and I looked back, He looked at me and he put his head down… I think he knew I wasn’t going to come back. Since then I have been rather heart broken as I have lost my faith. Islam is a falsehood, a pure hoax. I felt that I might as well believe in Santa clause or the boogie man! I wish I could believe again, but as a normal and respectable human being I cant believe in a man who is a pedophile! Simple as that. I can’t comprehend the fact that a man of that age can fantasize about a 6 year old, and then have sex with her while she was still playing with her dolls! And why is it that a woman is lower than a man? is my mother lower than me? why is it that a Muslim can have 4 wives? can a woman not have 4 husbands then? and why did Mohammed have more than 4 wives? doesn’t he believe in practice what you preach! Also how can I believe a man with such low moral character? how can I believe in a man who does things which I myself find abhorrent and disgusting, a man like him today instead of being in a mosque would actually be in prison with a 7 year jail sentence for rape, and child molestation/sexual abuse. For the cultural reasons given for this act (by the so called scholars) of Mohammed’s marriage with a 6 year old are irrelevant! No SANE man in any time or place would have sexual fallings for a baby! This is reason enough for denouncing Islam. For this man is not from God. And Islam is just the ramblings of some delusional Arab mad man. All this religion has done is cause pain and misery for the world. Especially India where the mass murder of Hindus was unforgivable. No country suffered more than Hindu India. As for other religions at least the so called enemies of Islam such as Sikhism, Hinduism and Buddhism etc., don’t have their religious leaders doing such disgusting things or being complete hypocrites! I’m still a right wing, conservative but I’m not a sucker and I’m not gonna let this nut case ideology ruin my life anymore. Even Jesus wasn’t anything like this fiend Mohammed! I’m just glad I got out while I could, and I just hope that all the other Muslims finally get their facts right and come to their senses. They should DUMP this evil satanic cult immediately, and do with the Koran as is done with all other piles of useless TRASH! - commit it to the FLAMES! Any way, thank you for your time,
Ahmed K.
P.S. Apology to all those Sikhs and others i fought with and got many a bloody nose for the defense of this pathetic cult, forgive me, thank you.

Sorry for bad English but I needed to write to you. I am not very good at it. I am a Muslim. I read your articles and changed my mind about Islam. I was among those who tried to advocate Islam. I thought Osama bin Laden was not a Muslim and I was. Now I see I was not a Muslim and Osama Bin Laden was.
Fortunately I am living in Sweden and I can become an apostate. It is a free country. I was born in Saudi Arabia and if I left Islam in that country I would be killed.
I must change my whole life because I left Islam. It will be hard but I will try to do it because I don’t want to be a Muslim. I no longer visit mosque. I no longer pray. I stopped doing these things. I shaved my face.
I don’t promise to become a Western man in a day but I already began changing.
My family is living in Saudi Arabia . I will not tell them about my decision because they are very intolerant.
I hope all Muslims will leave Islam. And it will happen. Islam is inhumane. You can’t be a human and a Muslim at the same time. Most Muslims will choose to be humans. It is for sure.
I was a Muslim but I didn’t want to kill non-Muslims. I didn’t think about such verses in the Quran. I thought it was to be practiced only in the 7th century.
I am a father. I have a one-year-old daughter. Her mother died when she was having her. My daughter will not be a Muslim woman. She will be a western woman. She will receive education and have a career. I will do everything I can to do it.
It is really funny that I read the Quran million times but I didn’t see things that you wrote in your articles. You made me stop being blind.
Thanks for your site. You made me a better human being. No, you made me a human being. Before it I was a Muslim.
My sister who is also in Sweden left Islam long time ago but I didn’t know. When I told her I had left Islam she was very happy. We are now friends. My family (and me before I left Islam) didn’t like her because she did everything to leave Saudi Arabia and go to free countries. She hated Islam from her childhood. It is in her nature. She always wanted to peruse a career. She is doing it now. She says Islam is unbearable for women (especially in Saudi Arabia ).
I read all articles on your site. It took me some months. I made my own investigation. I talked to my Imam. He didn’t answer my questions.
P.S. I hope things will improve in your mother country. Iranians are the most intelligent and educated among other Muslims.
Thank you very much! I know my English is awful but I live in Sweden and Swedish was more important to me!

Indonesia Must Protect Christians
September 26, 2006
Christian Freedom International Urges Fair Trials for Minority Christians
FRONT ROYAL, Virginia, Sept. 26 /Christian Newswire/ — The government of Indonesia executed three Christians on September 22, 2006, for their alleged role in fighting on the island of Sulawesi six years ago. Crowds rioted over the weekend on several islands in protest.
Indonesia’s Vice President, Jusuf Kalla, appealed for calm, claiming that “these killings were carried out according to our legal process.” But, according to Christian Freedom International President Jim Jacobson, “Indonesia’s legal process is the problem.”
Sulawesi was swept by sectarian violence from 2000 to 2002. Christians shared in the blame, though outside Islamic groups, such as the Lasker Jihad, actively fomented conflict.
Few Muslims were ever punished for their role in fighting that cost at least 1000 lives. No Muslim was sentenced to more than 15 years.
The trial of Fabianus Tibo, Marinus Riwu, and Dominggus da Silva was marked by irregularities. “Indonesia’s judicial system is notable for its corruption, but this trial was over the top,” said Jacobson. Crowds of Muslim fundamentalists regularly gathered at the trial, intimidating judges and witnesses alike.
Isabelle Cartron of Amnesty International reports: “The men’s lawyers received death threats, including a bomb planted at one lawyer’s house, and demonstrators armed with stones outside the courthouse demanded that the three be sentenced to death.”
Nor is this the only case where Islamic extremists have threatened the courts. A year ago three Sunday School teachers were convicted of the “Christianization” of Muslim children who had attended classes with the permission of their parents. The women’s trial was highlighted by mob calls for their deaths.
Private violence is unconstrained by government authorities throughout Indonesia. The latest State Department report on international religious persecution explains that, despite formal respect for religious freedom: “The Government sometimes tolerated discrimination against and the abuse of religious groups by private actors, and often failed to punish perpetrators.”
“Mobs have regularly destroyed churches and other Christian facilities around Indonesia, with no one ever punished,” said Jacobson. “Out of fear of retaliation local officials often refuse to allow congregations to rebuild.”
These problems persist. Last fall Christian Freedom International reported that an Islamist group, whose name translates into the Anti-Apostasy Alliance Movement, had used intimidation to close at least 35 churches on the island of Java, on which Jakarta is located. Christians remain equally vulnerable elsewhere.
Even though the existing national government has affirmed its commitment to religious freedom, it limits outside support for religious groups and bans proselytizing. Moreover, it recently adopted new rules making it virtually impossible to open a small church anywhere and any church in a non-Christian neighborhood.
Discrimination is evident in every day life for many Christians with whom CFI has worked. In practice, Christians are less likely to receive government benefits and jobs; they sometimes face extortion and intimidation because the police and judiciary often do not protect non-Muslims.
“Indonesia has much to do to become a true partner of America and leader in Asia. Jakarta must protect in fact as well as in theory its religious minorities. A good place to start would be to guarantee Christians a fair trial in the face of Islamic mob rule,” said Jacobson.
Henan Court Revokes the Re-education Through Labor Decision - First Time a Chinese House Church Christian Has Won Such a Lawsuit
September 25, 2006
MIDLAND, Texas, Sept. 25 /Christian Newswire/ — CAA learned August 20, 2006; the People’s Court of Hualong District, Pu Yang City, Henan Province revoked the Re-education through Labor Decision of House Church Christian Li Huimin who was arrested March 13, 2006.
Plaintiff, Li Huimin, charged with holding an illegal gathering, and sentenced to re-education through labor had his conviction revoked. This is the first time a Christian in China has won such a lawsuit.
March 13, 2006, Li Huimin, along with a group of Christians held an Easter worship service, a traditional Christian observance at the home of Ma Weqing, a 71-year-old Christian in Wen County, Henan Province. Most of those attending were local Christians. Some came from adjacent counties, like Lihuimin, to worship with their relatives. At the close of the gathering, the service was raided by the local police. Many Christians were arrested, including Li Huimin.
Li Huimin is in charge of a house church in Nanle County, Puyang City. He was taken first to the Wen County Public Security Bureau, where they attempted to coerce him into admitting he is a cult member. Li Huimin refused and was cruelly beaten. Two days later, Li Huimin was escorted to Nanle County, Puyang City.
He was detained there for another 38 days and then sent to the re-education through labor camp April 26, 2006, and charged with holding an illegal gathering. May 16, 2006, Li Huimin applied to Puyang People’s Government for an Administrative Review. The government dismissed the appeal and upheld the re- education through labor decision. So Li Huimin filed a lawsuit with the People’s Court of Hualong District through a lawyer.
August 20, 2006, Hualong District People’s Court reached a verdict in the first trial. Though the Easter celebration was still considered illegal, Li Huimin’s Re- education through Labor Decision was revoked because of the inappropriate citation of the legal articles. (See details in the attachment 2) Though this is the first example in China of a Christian winning such a lawsuit, said Pastor Bob Fu, President of CAA, it is still too early to believe it is a sign that the Chinese government is changing its policy on religious freedom, because the proper Christian gathering in this case is still considered illegal. Attachment 2 Main Points of the First Trial Verdict the following facts were made clear during the trial:
The defendant, the Puyang Municipal Re-education through Labor Committee’s written decision of Re- education through Labor (PU Lao Zi (2006) No. 31) issued April 12, 2006, concluded that on March 13, 2006, Li Huimin, accompanied by 4 other Christians went to Wen County to attend an illegal gathering held in Ma Weqing’s house, and was arrested by the Wen County Public Security Bureau. March 15, 2006 he was escorted to the Nanle County Public Security Bureau and placed in custody.
According to the State Council’s decision on the issue of re-education through labor, article 1 of the State Council’s Notification of the two measures: forced labor and administrative detention for investigation into re-education through labor, and article 10, section 2, item 13 in the Interim Measure of Re- education through Labor, the Puyang Municipal Re- education through Labor Committee issued the written Re-education through Labor Decision of Li Huimin ( PU Lao Zi (2006) No. 31) for 1 year, April 12, 2006.
Plaintiff Li Huimin refused to comply with the judgment, and applied for an administrative review to the Puyang government. The Puyang Government dismissed the appeal and upheld the original judgment.
The court concluded that the two parties have no controversy over Li Huimin’s participation in the gathering. The controversy focuses on whether the gathering is illegal. According to the Religious Freedom Situation in China published by the State Council News office (the administrative & legal protection and supervision), the conventional prayer meeting held at a Christian’s home is not required to register if the attendants are mainly friends and relatives.
The fact that the plaintiff is not a relative of Ma Wenqing from Wen County, along with the large scale gathering shown by evidence provided by the defendant, proved the appropriation of the defendant’s conclusion that the gathering is illegal. So the court does not support the argument of the plaintiff that the gathering is legal.
But the legal article the defendant cited to make the decision of Li Huimin’s Re-education through Labor (Pu Lao Zi (2006) No. 31) section 3, article 10 in the Interim Measure of Re-education through Labor, dealing with acts of hooliganism, prostitution, larceny, fraud, refusal to change evil ways despite repeated exhortation, but not serious enough for criminal sanctions.
The court believes that this citation of the law is inappropriate, so the decision is to be cancelled.
So according to item 2, section 2, article 54 of The Administrative Procedural Law, the court revokes the Re-education through Labor Decision of Pu Lao Zi (2006) No.031.
The case expenses are to be paid by the defendant.
If the verdict is not accepted, an appeal may be lodged with the court within 15 days of receiving this verdict notification.

72 Virgin(ians)
September 21, 2006
From a friend..
Abu al-Zarqawi died, George Washington met him at the Pearly Gates. He slapped him across the face and yelled, “How dare you try to destroy the nation I helped conceive!”
Patrick Henry approached, punched him in the nose and shouted, “You wanted to end our liberties but you failed!”
James Madison followed, kicked him in the groin and said, “This is why I allowed our government to provide for the common defense!”Thomas Jefferson was next, beat al-Zarqawi with a long cane and snarled, “It was Evil men like you who inspired me to write the Declaration of Independence.”
The beatings and thrashings continued as George Mason, James Monroe, and 66 other early Americans unleashed their anger on the terrorist Leader.
As al-Zarqawi lay bleeding and in pain, an Angel appeared.
Al-Zarqawi wept and said, “This is not what you promised me.”
The Angel replied, “I told you there would be 72 Virginians waiting for you in Heaven. What did you think I said?”
Indonesian Christians Executed
September 21, 2006
MEDIA ADVISORY, Sept. 21 /Christian Newswire/ — The Washington-DC based human rights group, International Christian Concern (ICC) www.persecution.org has just become informed that the three Christian men facing the death penalty in Indonesia have been executed by firing squad. The men were executed just after midnight on Friday, September 22, 2006, Indonesia time.
“Justice has once again been denied Indonesia’s Christians,” said Jeremy Sewall, ICC Policy Analyst. “I am deeply saddened at this news, and ask all concerned Christians to pray for the families of these men. This is a tragedy. This is not justice.”
After their execution was stayed last month by the Attorney General for Central Sulawesi, Mohammad Yahya Sibe, he was suddenly replaced. He was the one who had to give the order for the executions to proceed. The Chief of Police was also suddenly replaced and sent to another department. The appeal for these men that should have lasted months or even a year to process was denied within weeks.
Tibo, Riwu, and Da Silva, all Christian, were the only men charged in the Poso conflict, even though the conflict started in 1998 and went till 2003. This is a glaring injustice and hints of a massive cover-up by the Indonesian government. ICC has personally investigated the Poso conflict. Entire Christian villages were attacked with government munitions and burned down using Indonesian government fuel trucks. Christian adults and children were beheaded. The Muslim community initiated the attacks and there was every indication that local Muslim government leaders were involved. Why were no Muslims ever charged in any of the attacks?
“These men were sacrificed as scape-goats so that the Indonesian government could wash their hands and walk away from the Poso conflict of 1998 to 2003. But if Indonesia really wants to show the world they value truth, they should re-open the investigation into this conflict and find all those responsible for the violence,” stated Sewall.
“Please pray that the Christians in Poso will not seek revenge for these executions, and that instead they would trust God to administer justice in his own time.”
Black Christian Artist Addresses Congressional Black Caucus Regarding Faith Based Discrimination
September 21, 2006
WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 /Christian Newswire/ — On Thursday, September 7, 2006, Christian artist, Lloyd Marcus along with three other distinguished black conservative political activists sat on a panel to address the Congressional Black Caucus. Each panelist spoke on topics crucial to the Black community.
Marcus spoke on ‘Philosophical vs. Racial Discrimination’. Marcus emotionally shared the story of how three of his paintings were selected by his city’s PR director for their Black History Month display in City Hall. Two days later the city manager and attorney ordered the removal of Marcus’ paintings from the display because of their quote ‘religious themes’.
As president of the city’s arts and historical center, Marcus found himself in an extremely awkward situation. He and his wife Mary have invested four years volunteering and building the failing center into a vital asset to the community. Marcus was ready to ask the city to assist them in purchasing a new larger location. Marcus feared that confronting the city on the banning of God from the public square could jeopardize all that they had worked to achieve.
Marcus sought counsel from his semi-retired minister father, Dr. Lloyd Marcus, Sr. ‘My dad reminded me of the scripture that if we deny God among men, He will deny us’. Marcus realized that the issue was larger than him.
February 2006, Marcus became the eye of the storm in a worldwide Freedom of Speech controversy. Media and talk radio across the U.S. and as far as Japan and Australia covered Marcus’ story. Liberty Counsel filed a federal lawsuit on Marcus’ behalf for the re-installing of the paintings. The city rescinded.
Marcus rejected advice by some to sue for damages and the baiting of the media to trash his city’s leadership. Marcus felt such behavior would taint the victory for Christianity and Freedom of Speech. Marcus spoke at the ‘War on Christians & the Values Voter In 2006’ Conference sponsored by Vision America. Singer, songwriter, artist, commentator and activist Lloyd Marcus is fighting the war on Christianity.
What religious imagery caused Marcus’ banned paintings?
‘3AM’ has a Bible on a night stand.
‘The Christmas Basket’ a man wears a baseball cap reading, ‘I heart Jesus’.
‘Goin’ Home’ is a New Orleans style street funeral with a minister carrying a Bible.

Indonesian Christians to be Executed Thursday
September 20, 2006
The Washington-DC based human rights group, International Christian Concern (ICC) www.persecution.org has just become informed that the execution date has been re-scheduled for three Christians involved in the Poso conflict. The men are to be executed on Thursday, September 21, 2006. They were the only ones charged in a conflict in which massive numbers of Muslims participated.
After their execution was stayed last month by the Attorney General for Central Sulawesi, Mohammad Yahya Sibe, he was suddenly replaced. He was the one who had to give the order for the executions to proceed. The Chief of Police was also suddenly replaced and sent to another department. Now, the appeal for these men that should have lasted months or even a year to process has been denied within one month. The execution is scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 21, 2006.
Jeremy Sewall, ICC Policy Analyst, said, “The Indonesian government is sacrificing true justice to provide judicial ‘balance’ by executing these three Christians to appease Muslims who are upset that three Islamic terrorists are also set to be executed for their part in the Bali bombings. This is not justice. This is deception, cover-up, and appeasement.”
Tibo, Riwu, and Da Silva, all Christian, were the only men charged in the Poso conflict, even though the conflict started in 1998 and went till 2003. This is a glaring injustice and hints of massive cover-up by the Indonesian government.
Jeff King, President of ICC, stated, “There are so many Muslims in the Poso area with blood on their hands that the Governor of Central Sulawesi, where Poso is located, recently conveyed to the community that in order to attain peace it was necessary to implement a ‘General Amnesty’ for those implicated in the Poso case. Religious and cultural leaders of the Poso community have also repeatedly held meetings in order to achieve a ‘General Amnesty.’ Strangely, the need for amnesty is only for those who have not been charged.”
ICC requests that all concerned individuals contact their Indonesian embassy to urge the Indonesian government to intervene in this case to:
Delay the execution.
Reopen a wide ranging investigation into the Poso attacks to so that everyone who is guilty can be charged or amnestied.

TUPAC SHAKUR VS JESUS CHRIST — “Rush” Takes On Salib
September 14, 2006
A misguided soul who thinks he knows more than the “prophet” (peace be upon him, because he REALLY needs it, and so does the modern world, whose awful state is the result of his egocentric and perverted “revelations” from “Allah,” who would probably strangle his most “holy” prophet if he had a chance) put the following comment in my “Mohammed vs Michael Jackson” posting (see my responses in the square brackets):
Rush Says:
September 13th, 2006 at 10:08 pm e
unfortunatly u dont seem from ur articles to be a person that read anything about islam..why dont u TRY and read prophit mohammeds history a LIL bit before u attack a holly prophit as if u have personal issues with him?
[That's rich! *I* didn't read about Islam?? If you DO NOT have personal issues with "the prophet," then it is YOU who didn't read about Islam, my friend!]
u comparinga holly prophit to MJ?? WHATS NEXT…TUPAC SHAKUR VS JESUS CHRIST COMPARISONS??
[No, Jesus actually practiced what He preached, whereas MOHAMMED PREACHED WHAT HE PRACTICED. Yes, he changed "allah's" decrees to suit what was happening to him (mohammed) at the moment. If, in fact, 'allah' DID make those decrees, then 1- Islam is actually and truly about Mohammed more than 'allah,' and 2- THIS ALLAH MUST BE A DOLT to base a faith around a perverse man that I wouldn't even let to be the doorman in my house, much less the high priest of an entire, world-dessicating religion.]
for real man..i wont even go low to ur level…
[You couldn't hope to reach my level, hon..]
cuz fortunatly for u…unlike most muslims now..i studied my religion RIGHT…and we respect all prophits and religions wether u like it or not…and those idiots who claim to be muslims that act different and show hate and violence towards Christians even if only verbally WILL be punished in life and after death…because in reality, muslims have to protect all christian civilians living within an islamic nation and must treat them equal to muslims and they must be given the freedom to practise their religion in peace..
[By your words, you seem to be a caring and friendly and devout individual.. why would you dedicate your life and your soul to a false religion that will only end up with you in hell? Please, brother, I BEG you to read the Koran once, all in one sitting. If you don't want to waste the time, I don't blame you, but scroll down to read the verses that prove you wrong in your claim that Islam=peace.]
so those muslims u keep referring to are not true muslims..
[All the sheikhs aren't true Muslims? Fascinating. Why don't you email someone from Al Azhar and tell him that, I'm sure he'll love it.]
just like hateful christians like you who attack other peoples religion are NOT real christians either…i dont think christianity pushes u to disrespect other peoples free will and religious believes…
[Ya Rush ya Habib el Koll, I am not hateful. I am speaking in a sad and resigned manner. My heart is breaking that you believe in a false religion.]
i know and respect UR religion more than you….so stop wasting all our time with this stupid ignorant BS…and people who are wasting time arguing with this air head who has no time t even back up his stupid stories with any evidence…let him go…
[1- here is evidence below (scroll down) and 2- YOU just wasted your time too in replying to me, so why don't you practice what you preach? Or are you like your prophet in that, too..?]
he will lose his motive with lack of attention
BE GONE
salam
[I mean this 100%, but salaam to you too. Please scroll down, though..]
((((((((()))))))))
Just in case the switching above was confusing, here is an alternate reply from me:
Thanks, Rush, here’s hoping you won’t “rush” to judgment and that you will read what I have to say. First of all, I happen to know the Hadith and the “holy” Koran better than most Moslems could claim to.
If YOU knew it as well as I did, then you could not claim that Islam is a religion of peace unless you were either Mentally Retarded, or if you skipped the following verses (read ‘em and weep.. Actually, we’re the ones who weep when we see that you really and truly believe this TRIPE called Islam!)
FROM your own scriptures (NOT the Hadith, which some don’t accept as the word of Allah):
Verses from the Koran:
VIII/12: When thy Lord inspired the angels (saying:) I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then smite the necks and smite of them each finger.
XCVIII/6: Lo! those who disbelieve, among the people of the Scripture and idolaters, will abide in fire of hell. They are the worst of created beings.
IX/5: Then when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor- due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
IX/73: Oh Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites! Be harsh with them. Their ultimate abode is hell, a hapless journey’s end.
LXIX/30-37: (It will be said)Take him and fetter him and expose him to hell fire. And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. Lo! he used not to believe in Allah the tremendous, and urged not on the feeding of the wretched. Therefore hath he no lover hear this day nor any food save filth which none but sinners eat.
XLIV/43-50: LO! the tree of Zaqqum (The tree that grows in the heart of hell bearing fruits like devil’s heads) - the food of the sinner. Like molten brass, it seetheth in their bellies as the seething of boiling water. (And it will be said): Take him and drag him to the midst of hell, then pour upon his head the torment of boiling water. Saying: TASTE! LO! thou wast forsooth the mighty, the noble! Lo! this is that whereof ye used to doubt.
IX/123: O ye who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you and let them find harshness in you and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto Him).
IV/144: O Ye who believe! choose not disbelievers for your friends in place of believers. Would you give Allah a clear warrant against you ?
IX/29: Fight those who do not profess the true faith (Islam) till they pay the jiziya (poll tax) with the hand of humility.
VIII/65: “O Prophet! Exhort the believers to fight. If there be of you twenty steadfast they shall overcome two hundred, and if there be of you a hundred stedfast they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they (the disbelievers) are a folk without intelligence.”
And in terms of Islam’s Treatment of Women:
II/223: Your women are a tilth for you (to cultivate). So go to your tilth as ye will…
IV/34: Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other.. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them.
IV/15: (For women) If any one of your women is guilty of lewdness …confine them until death claims them.
IV/16: (For Men) If two men among you commit indecency (sodomy) punish them both. If they repent and mend their ways, let them be. Allah is forgiving and merciful.
[To men only, apparently..]
XXIV/6-7: As for those who accuse their wives but have no witnesses except themselves , let the testimony of one of them be four testimonies…
[Wow, even-handed there!]
Sorry, I wanted to pull out every filthy ‘verse’ in the Koran, but 1- I don’t have all year, and 2- I just had an excellent dinner, which is making my stomach immensely pleased, and I would rather not lose it..
Relief Agency Says ‘Material Support’ Law Hurts Terror Victims
September 14, 2006
BALTIMORE, Sept. 13 /Christian Newswire/ — A law designed to keep terrorists out of the United States is actually hurting victims of terrorism overseas, a relief agency said today.
The legal blunder prevents legitimate refugees from seeking asylum in the U.S., potentially leaving them at the mercy of their oppressors overseas, Baltimore- based World Relief reported.
The evangelical agency has asked the Bush administration to give attention to the problem, revolving around the issue of ‘material support.’ In a letter, prominent leaders of faith communities and individuals concerned with protecting victims of persecution stated that “refugees cannot become the unintended victims of the war against terrorism” and that “[the President’s] leadership is needed at this critical juncture so our country can be a place of freedom for those who are persecuted all over the world.”
The so-called ‘material support’ bar is designed to keep terrorists and their supporters out of the country, but has been applied to innocent victims of oppression. People who have been forced to cooperate with terrorists overseas — or even those abused by a terrorist group — have been found guilty of ‘supporting’ or ‘association with’ a terrorist organization and barred from the United States.
Terror victims who have been barred from entry into the United States include a Liberian woman who was raped by members of a rebel group, and a Colombian man who paid a ransom to a terrorist group for the release of his father.
Current interpretation of the law means that many victims of terrorism and persecution overseas cannot seek asylum in the U.S.
World Relief has voiced concern about persecuted Burmese Christians facing deportation from Malaysia. Because of the material support issue, they are currently unable to seek asylum in the U.S.
“These people need our immediate assistance to ensure their safety,” said World Relief’s Galen Carey in Malaysia.
As the humanitarian arm of the National Association of Evangelicals in the U.S., World Relief has helped resettle over 200,000 refugees — victims of war, terror and persecution — in America.
Happy 9/11 … ?
September 11, 2006
It doesn’t really sound like much of a greeting, does it? At the very least, I want to wish everyone, but especially the victims and the families of the victims a peaceful and blessed 5th anniversary.

America to Her Knees, Again: A September 11th Essay on the Posture of a People United
September 9, 2006
The Tragedy of September 11th Brought America to Her Knees, Twice
Marcel L. Johnson
First, by the attack on our nation’s nerve centers, The World Trade Center and the U.S. Department of Defense at the Pentagon, crippling us economically and devastating us emotionally. Secondly, was the President’s appeal for every American citizen to participate in a National Day of Prayer.
And, for a moment, the citizens of America unashamedly answered the call and prayed. Regardless of race, creed or color; no matter the religious background.
People who never attended church found a seat in the pew. Many whose lives would normally be busy, paused for a moment of silence or lit candles in the streets in observance of those who perished.
Tragedy has a way of humbling us and forcing us to focus on what’s important. Instead of being selfish, we became selfless. Instead of the ‘it’s about me’ syndrome, it was about someone else. We began seeing each other through a different set of eyes.
Our priorities shifted, too. Corporate plates weren’t as full. We were taking time to smell the coffee, sniff the roses, and embrace any and everything that helped us remember to appreciate the little things.
There were no reports of looting, and few burglaries. Even crimes against each other subsided.
On September 11, 2001, something happened to America. The tragedy that was meant to knock us to our knees in defeat instead humbled us before the God on whom this nation was built.
Now, on the eve of the fifth anniversary, as we remember in solemn observance, let us not focus so much on the disaster of that day, but consider instead the quiet resolve that was birthed in us: to protect and uphold freedom, no matter the cost, so help us God.
Freedom of Religion Restricted to One Hour on Sunday Morning
September 9, 2006
ARLINGTON, Va. Sept. 8 /Christian Newswire/ — “The Navy has ruled that chaplains have just one hour of freedom of religion on Sunday morning,” states Janet Folger, President of Faith2Action (F2A.ORG) and author of The Criminalization of Christianity.
A Navy judge ruled earlier this week that public worship is not the same as worshipping in public, declaring that a lawful order can be given that would prohibit worship outside of a chapel setting on Sunday morning. “According to this judge, public worship is restricted to Sunday mornings alone,” said Folger.
This same judge is involved in a court martial hearing that will convene next Tuesday (September 12) for U.S. Navy Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt at the Naval Station in Norfolk, Virginia. He is facing this court martial for praying in Jesus name at a public event while wearing his uniform. Folger will attend the court martial and be available for comment.
“While our soldiers fight for freedom abroad, our own chaplains are facing court martial for praying for them,” said Folger. “Where does the Constitution say that freedom of religion is limited to one hour?”
Persecuted Church Economic Development Network Established

Network will Address Economic Viability of the Persecuted Church
MEDIA ADVISORY, Sept. 5 /Christian Newswire/ — More than 200 million Christians in 60 countries are persecuted for their faith everyday.(1) In addition to physical violence, widespread unemployment in developing countries and social ostracism means these Christians also face the daily challenge of providing adequate food, clothing and housing for themselves and their family. In fact, many persecuted Christians live on as little as $60.00USD a month.
Responding to this serious, growing economic challenge for persecuted Christians, 16 leaders from 11 international organizations met recently in Atlanta to form the Persecuted Church Economic Development Network (PCEDN) to explore how the global church can assist fellow believers.
In addition to discussing the status of the persecuted church, the group also agreed on broad definitions relating to micro-finance, sustainable small and large enterprise development, tentmaking and macro- economic conditions. Moreover, leaders identified critical roadblocks to economically helping the emerging, persecuted church including:
1) an inappropriate economic worldview among both the Western and emerging churches
2) lack of good models of economic sustainability for healthy churches in a hostile environment
3) shortage of sustainable, reproducible grassroots economic development models relevant to the emerging church
4) lack of collaboration among Western resource ministries
As one leader remarked, “Unless we successfully address this issue, it’s likely that our efforts in evangelism and church planting in the toughest parts of the world will have little lasting impact.”
Three PCEDN Working Groups were established:
• Models of Sustainable Economic Development
• Information Exchange
• Facilitating the Network
The PCEDN Working Groups will address the need for sustainable economic develop models and standards for training and consulting with the emerging church. Plans are also underway for a PCEDN enewsletter and website. The next global meeting of the PCEDN will be held spring 2007 in Bangkok.
The working consultation was developed and facilitated by visionSynergy ( www.visionsynergy.net).

After Five-Year Court Battle, Becket Fund Wins California Church Right to Worship on its Property

Another Civil Rights Victory Notched by Noted Public Interest Law Firm
LAKE ELSINORE, Calif., Aug. 23 /Christian Newswire/ — Civil rights lawyers representing a California store-front church today are celebrating a major victory in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. After a bitter five-year court battle, the Elsinore Christian Center now has the right to base its burgeoning church on property it owns in downtown Lake Elsinore.
The Ninth Circuit’s decision yesterday is the latest in an unbroken string of land use victories that The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty has won for religious organizations across the country. The Becket Fund is a non-profit, public interest law firm based in Washington, D.C. that protects the free public expression of all religious traditions.
Yesterday’s decision overturned the only judge in the country to rule that a major federal civil rights law protecting churches was unconstitutional. The civil rights law, called the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act of 2000 (or RLUIPA), forces cities and counties to take in account when making zoning decisions the ability of churches and their members to worship. The Becket Fund, which was instrumental in seeing RLUIPA passed through Congress, is also the nation’s most experienced and successful law firm in winning RLUIPA cases. (More information on RLUIPA is available at www.rluipa.org.)
“We have never lost a RLUIPA case and plan to keep on suing until cities and counties learn to respect churches’ civil rights,” said Kevin J. Hasson, founder and president of The Becket Fund. “In fact, we recently prevailed in a similar case in the Ninth Circuit for a Sikh congregation in Yuba City, Calif. and we are optimistic about the upcoming decision in Redwood Christian Schools vs. the County of Alameda, also in California.”
Hasson praised the Ninth Circuit for its decisions regarding RLUIPA, which he called “an important federal law that helps protect the rights of religions of all kinds to practice their faiths in their own way, on their own property.”
